Saab 96 « deux temps », année 1965. Couleur beige combinée à un intérieur vinyle/ tissu bicolore marron/gris. Cette magnifique Saab 96 « long nez » est dans un très bon à excellent état restauré, et la voiture montre tous les détails d'origine. Un reportage photo de la restauration et de la révision est présent. Les modèles Saab à deux temps sont un plaisir à conduire, et la note d'échappement est tout simplement fantastique ! La Saab 96 montre les merveilleuses lignes aérodynamiques pour lesquelles Saab est réputée. Le tableau de bord est bien rempli de magnifiques jauges et compteurs, même un Halda Speedpilot est présent ainsi qu'une horloge de type avion. Avec le Halda Speedpilot et les lampes Hella Spot supplémentaires à l'avant, cette Saab 96 présente un look sportif. La voiture est également équipée d'un très beau volant Saab avec une jante en bois qui rappelle la version “Monte Carlo” de ce modèle. Le moteur 3 cylindres à deux temps fonctionne à merveille et la boîte de vitesses manuelle à 4 vitesses avec changement de colonne fonctionne parfaitement. Le système électrique fut amélioré avec une dynamo à courant alternatif. Il s'agit d'un modèle Saab 96 « deux temps » recherché en très bon état !

Svenska Aeroplan AB, SAAB originally started as a manufacturer of aero planes. After the second world war the firm decided to expand their business and started developing and manufacturing automobiles. It started with the Saab 92. The car was given a very aerodynamic bodywork and the car was fitted with a DKW two stroke engine. Saab decided to enter the car in rally competitions which brought great success. The Saabs were light, agile and aerodynamic. This combined with front wheel drive proved to the perfect ingredients for a successful rally car. The make became famous with amongst others rally driver Erik Carlsson.
The Saab 96 saw the light of day in the year 1960. Like it's predecessors the car was fitted with a three cylinder two stroke engine. In the year 1966 the two stroke engine was abandoned. From then the Saab 95 and 96 were fitted with a durable Ford V4 engine. The 3-speed gearbox was also discontinued in favour of a 4-speed fully synchronized box. The column gearshift was continued which certainly has advantages in rally driving! Considering the impressive rally history of Saab the 96 model is a perfect car to participate in historic rally events!
